Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a therapy intensive

Getting Started

A focused, high-impact session or series that helps you reprocess trauma, emotional loops, or chronic pain patterns. We use brain-based therapies like ART, Brainspotting, and EMDR to help your system shift—without rehashing every detail.

Consults are usually available within 1–3 weeks. Intensives typically follow 2–4 weeks later depending on scheduling and complexity of timing.

This 45-minute virtual meeting designed to assess fit, clarify your goals, and begin mapping your intensive. It’s a conversation to ensure alignment and safety—for both of us.

I do not offer free phone consults. The fee for this consultation is $225.

Format & Location

Both are available. You must be physically in Oregon during your session, even if it’s online.

In-person sessions are held:

  • 2455 NW Marshall St suite 7, Portland, OR 97210
  • Local to Portland privately owned backyards

Most intensives follow a:

1-day (3 to 4 hours) or 3-day format (7 hours total) from Friday to Sunday structure.

Return clients can book single-day or shorter integration sessions.

You can book follow-up sessions (90–120 min) to support integration, continue processing, or deepen the work. Frequency is flexible—some clients return once, monthly, and others quarterly.

Insurance & Rates

No, I do not take insurance.

I’m a private pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a Superbill for therapy intensives directly to you. Consultations are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

  • 90791 – Initial intake

Note: Most plans only reimburse one session per day. It’s good to check with your insurance company before scheduling a consultation. Multi-hour intensives may not be fully reimbursed.

  • What % is reimbursed for CPT 90837 with an LPC?
  • Do you cover multi-hour sessions or one per day?
  • Is a diagnosis or prior auth required?
  • What is the process to request reimbursement with a Superbill?

Is This Right for Me?

  • You have a specific memory or pattern you want to shift
  • You’ve done therapy, but still feel stuck
  • You want focused, somatic-based trauma work
  • You’re managing chronic pain with no structural cause
  • You’re in active crisis
  • You’re not medically stable
  • You want general therapy without a clear focus
  • You need long-term, weekly therapy or emergency support

If you are in crisis, please contact Lifeline at 988 or go to your nearest hospital for immediate support.

This is a common question—and an important one.

While both therapy intensives and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) offer more focused support than standard weekly sessions, they serve very different purposes.

An IOP is considered a higher level of care, typically used for individuals in acute distress. It often includes:

  • Group therapy multiple times per week

  • Psychiatric evaluation or medication support

  • Case management

  • Treatment for active suicidal ideation, self-harm, eating disorders, or substance use

IOPs are designed for stabilization during crisis or when someone is struggling with basic functioning.

A therapy intensive, on the other hand, is designed for clients who are generally stable, high-functioning, and want to do deep work on specific memories, pain patterns, or long-standing emotional blocks. It’s best suited for people who feel stuck in their healing process—not those currently in crisis.

In my practice, we’re working on targeted goals like:

  • Processing a traumatic memory that still feels emotionally charged

  • Addressing chronic pain patterns linked to unresolved experiences

  • Shifting core beliefs and somatic responses that keep showing up, even after lots of insight

🛑 If you’re experiencing active suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, or feel unsafe in your day-to-day life, a therapy intensive is not the right fit. I strongly encourage seeking out a local IOP, crisis line, or hospital-based support. These programs are equipped with the 24/7 team-based care you deserve.

My intensives may be a great fit for those moments after the crisis—when you’re ready to heal something old and persistent that hasn’t shifted, despite your best efforts.

If you are in crisis, please contact Lifeline at 988 or go to your nearest hospital for immediate support.

That’s okay. You don’t need to feel 100% confident—you just need to feel tired of looping. If your system is calling for change, we’ll explore that together in the consultation. No pressure. Just clarity.
