Essentials for an awesome Telehealth Experience

Prep for your ART, EMDR, Flash, and Brainpotting session

Take the extra step

setting up your therapy space

Outside of the major essentials below, the following questions aim to help you think through how you might cultivate the most ideal environment for your session:

  • What do I need in my physical space to feel comfortable and safe?
  • What can I do to safeguard my space from being interrupted (physically and digitally)?
  • Where would I be most comfortable being during my therapy session?
  • How will I join my session? On what device?

Each session will take place on secure video connection over the internet without you needing to step foot into traffic or find parking.

Stable Internet

You’ll need an internet connection that is at least 0.35 mbps. Ideally, you’ll be joining in on a reliable, high-speed internet connection with a bandwidth of at least 10-15 mbps, which can provide the best quality connection.

Privacy

A space that is quiet, private, and free of distractions.

A private space where you will not be interrupted during the length of your session. If safety is an issue, please bring this up during our first session so we can troubleshoot and/or develop a safety protocol.

Headphones

This one is not a deal breaker. BUT headphones could be really helpful in 1) adding to your privacy, and 2) adding an auditory bilateral experience during our processing time.

Therapy Tissues

No therapy room is complete without a nice square piece of soft cotton.
